My partner and I have picked a subgenera of a psychological thriller. We researched some of its qualities to get the genera just right. Some of them are that a character is in an unstable psychological state. It incorporates some mystery, drama, and horror elements. The overall theme would be about death and the mind. It has a plot twist that would not be revealed till later but its hinted at in the film opening. We started to come up with a storyline to our film opening. We have the beginning thought out. Its going to be about a young girl that lives alone with her dog in a small neighborhood and she wakes up confused like she doesn't know whats going on. That's all we have for now.
