That is my CCR

This was the final project all done. Very satisfied about how it turned out.

   We encountered some problems today since me and Brendan weren't working together. I had to pick up my dad from the airport today and it cut some time that I could've used to film. Afterwards my brother and me went to the abandoned prison and we got permission to go in. We recorded as much as we could in the sunlight. We brought the table that we have to use for one of the  scenes. i thought we could put some covers on it and make it look like a bed. But now we came across another problem, when he laid on the table he said that he thought it was going to brake, it wasn't strong enough to hold him up. So now we weren't able to record the parts where he's laying in the bed or when the bed are in the shot, i tried to make it look as original as possible but I wasn't satisfied with the results. Were going to have to redo some more shots tomorrow so we have everything perfectly done and were able to start editing and doing our CCR.

   Today we started to film the beginning of the opening, the female parts. My brothers parts we will do tomorrow and whatever else is missing we will do on sunday. I thought about it and it and since it starts with her waking up she's going to be wearing her clothes that she sleeps with, very comfortable and simple yet she still looks good. We got prisoner clothes for the scenes tomorrow and have everything prepared to go. We want to Valeria's house to start recording. We made a lot of progress ut i wasn't happy with all of the shots we got. I asked Brendan if for saturday we could split p the work so he could redo Valeria's parts and i could start filming my brothers. This way we could still be productive and get most of the scenes done.

This is the storyboard we made. All scenes finalized on hoe the story is going to flow and the cliffhanger that it leaves you with.

   Me and Brendan have picked the title Desire, we thought it sounded a bit romantic but were going to use a font that makes it creepy looking so when people see it they won't get the wrong impression. We finished out storyboard. we realized were bit behind since we had start all over with our project. We've picked my brother and Valeria to play in our film opening. We have to get costumes since my brother will be playing a prisoner. We have to give Valeria a trendy, hipster sort of look. Thats what is in style right now and since she's a popular girl then she should be wearing the most modern clothes.
   We will begin preparing to film this weekend since that is the only free time my brother has since he works. We'll be filming in Valeria's house for her parts since she feels more comfortable and her house has more space to get different types of shots and angles, also, her house has a lot of windows so we will be able to use natural lighting in the film.

   With everything coming together now. Just started building the storyboard and everything, now were looking into the production itself. Were getting permission to go to the abandoned prison nearby to be able to record there. The rest of the scenes will be shot in my house. Ive thought about who should be part of our cast. Ive asked my older brother to play Billy since he has a much older looking face than the kids at our school. He has a full grown beard and is skinny looking, has a very thin face and just looks like a psychopath (he's not). He's a little weirdo and Im not sure of his acting skills. If he doesn't work out I'm gonna ask people from the drama club in school that has an older look. Im still not sure who should play the girl role. Im imagining a Megan Fox type of girl but obviously that way too high of an expectation but one that seems to fit what I have in mind is Brendan's girlfriend, Valeria. All i would have to do is ask her and see if she thinks she's gonna be good for the part and she'll be a able to perform it.

   After discussing the new ideas with my partner, Brendan, we have decided to use the new ideas given by our classmates. Were going to make the main character, the guy, be obsessed with the main girl character. Having shots going back and forth between the life she's living and the way he's living his life being locked up and obsessing over her. Were going to have one flashback of how exactly they know each other and to establish their relationship. This is going to build up the conflict in the opening leaving the viewers hanging and wanting to know what happens next. What i need to do next is design a completely new storyboard since we have finalized our idea. I have thought of titles for our movie. I looked up synonyms for obsessed to start with. I really liked the words consumed, desire, captivated, and dominated. I also started playing with the idea that all the guy does is think about this girl constantly, so to go with think, breathe, ____ which the blank would be the girl's name. Ive thought on normal american names to give her but to me they're not quite what i want. Ive thought about Morgan, Bella, Bianca, Zoe, Chelsey, but i can't picture any of them for the part. I want a name that when you hear it you automatically think of a beautiful girl with a secret, very mysterious yet somehow open to the world, one of the popular girls yet she likes to spend a lot of time alone. I think a name I really like is Lucy. Thats my cat's name and it kind of sounded perfect to me when i thought about it. Im just not sure it would fit with the title, would've liked it to rhyme. The guy's name felt a lot easier for me. I just thought of guy names that if i ever heard would creep me out a lot. I thought of Billy, Bob, Barney, Dimitri, Will. I found some of these names by looking up creepy guy names.  For me the one that would fit right in would be Billy. To me that names sounds very sketchy and that's what I'm looking for.

   Today we gather into groups to get commentary from our other classmates. when i pitched my side they told me there was a lot going on just for aa film opening. i agree in some type of way. there is a lot going on i just  imagined everything going very fast but when i thought about it there wouldst be much for the bulging up of the plot for the movie later. They told me a lot of ideas that i really am considering. They told me to have a lot of noises in the backgrounded building up all together to create the mental disturbance were going for. they told me to take out all the killings and just stick to showing how he's going crazy in the cell. Were going to add a lot of jump cuts to add the effect of time passing and showing that he's having a breakdown. They told me to watch American Horror Story: Asylum to get some ideas

   We trying to figure out a way to incorporate the dg into the story. We were thinking that late at night the girl is in the living room watching a scary movie while she's on her computer working. Then the dog keeps on barking and he doesn't stop. She's trying to ignore him since he does it so much. She yells out for him calling the dogs name telling him to stop barking but he continues. She goes to her bedroom to get some quiet and you can still hear the dog in the background. She turns on the TV to watch the news while she gets ready for bed. Then an emergency broadcast comes on to warm the people of the serial killer that escaped the prison connecting both of the stories together. She starts to pay close attention to the news and then she notices that her dog stopped barking. She thinks its suspicious and goes out her room looking for him. She walks around the house and finds him in the kitchen dead she freaks out and starts to cry. Theres a trail of blood following to the next room, she follows it and grabs a knife from the kitchen. As she is walking into the room theres a shadow behind her and then you hear a slightly quiet creepy laugh and it cuts there. This idea is not set in stone since we have to figure out if we'll be able to produce it maybe switch some things around, but this is pretty much what were gonna do. now were gonna construct out storyboard and come up with a title.

   We continued with our story. We figured out what our conflict should be. theres gonna be a mental hospital in the same neighborhood as the one the girl lives in. We'll show the mental patient and what is wrong with him. Still not sure what mental disease he should have but he later turns into a serial killer and is taken to prison in the city nearby. He figures out a way to escape and its all over the news. The girl is living her regular routine life but she never figured out what happened that night when she woke up with no memory of what she had done. Still trying to figure out how to tie everything together and show that. For now we have  good rhythm to the story

   My partner and I have picked a subgenera of a psychological thriller. We researched some of its qualities to get the genera just right. Some of them are that a character is in an unstable psychological state. It incorporates some mystery, drama, and horror elements. The overall theme would be about death and the mind. It has a plot twist that would not be revealed till later but its hinted at in the film opening. We started to come up with a storyline to our film opening. We have the beginning thought out. Its going to be about a young girl that lives alone with her dog in a small neighborhood and she wakes up confused like she doesn't know whats going on. That's all we have for now. We are discussing what should be the conflict

   Now I'm considering psychological thrillers because they juts sound interesting and theres many techniques that we could do to make the film opening very good. But, classic horror movies are also brought to my attention. Using stereotypes from the classic films like Scream, Friday the 13th, and Final Destination. Having the classic blonde girl, the brunette friend, the jock, the nerd, the black guy,  and the loner, etc. Having them all together in some sort of party and as one of them leaves they suddenly go missing but nobody notices. We won't show you what exactly took the person or how they disappeared to create suspense.
   Thats all I've thought about so far, but I think it seems like a really basic idea that happens in all movies. I will do more research to try to expand my idea. I don't want our film opening to be predictable, I want to attract the viewers and have them completely surprised and curious at what would happen in the rest of the movie. Still thinking of more ideas.

   Now we are trying to specify a subgenera of thrillers. we still haven't come to a conclusion to which one to pick. we researched possible ideas of subgenera. We started looking at types of scary movies that have been successful. We liked Scream, The Conjuring, Chucky, Paranormal Activity and others. We still haven't decided what subgenera to pick. We're leaning more towards a mystery thriller. Some movies that I started to look at were Gone Girl and Black Swan. their films openings are very different and it gave me a broader perspective on ideas for our own. For it to be a mystery is not set yet but I'm thinking of some ideas of a storyline.

   To start getting an idea of the genre we wanted to do, we reasearched the top movies of 2016-17.
We want our film to be successful snd get as lot of attention, so using the genre of the top movie of the year would be a great place to start looking. I researched the top 100 movies of 2016 and went on the Rotten Tomatoes page, they are a reliable movie critic company. The top movie genres were drama and thrillers. But also, some famous movies that are popular are adventure, animation, and action. After careful consideration of what genre to select, we have concluded to do a thriller film opening.
